These are the answers to questions Chasidy gets asked most often
Is everything I say confidential?
Everything said in sessions is confidential with the following three exceptions:
1. I am required to notify the appropriate authorities in cases where I learn about child abuse.
2. I am required to notify the appropriate authorities if a client makes serious, credible threats to harm themselves or any other person.
3. The courts can subpoena information from me in certain legal situations. If any of these three situations were to occur, I would discuss the need to break confidentiality with you, if possible, before doing so.
What is your theoretical orientation?
Eclectic. I draw on elements from the humanistic (Rogers, Adler), analytical (Jung), gestalt ( Kant) and cognitive/behavioral, schools of thought depending on the situation and client(s) that I am dealing with.
What is art therapy?
Art therapy is a way of working with the creative process of art making in healing on a physical, mental and/or emotional level. Engaging in a creative process can be inherently therapeutic. The images produced are often helpful in communicating emotions and experiences. No artistic skill is required to participate in art therapy. For more information about art therapy please visit the American Art Therapy Association website.
What professional associations do you belong to?
I am registered with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors; The Canadian Counselling Association; and The Adlerian Psychology Association of British Columbia. I adhere to codes of ethics of my professional associations, and carry full professional liability insurance through Aon Reed Stenhouse.
What are your fees?
The fee that is recommended by the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors for individuals is $140 and $150 (incl HST) for couples per 50 minute hour. I follow this recommendation but both myself and my associates have a sliding scale for services depending on the ways that session fees may be covered. Fees may be paid privately, through employers for supervision/consultation or counselling services (for example, WorkSafe British Columbia), through government programs (for example
Crime Victims Assistance Program); Employee Assistance Programs (for example, Ceridian Lifeworks), and/or through insurance companies (for example, Insurance Corporation of British Columbia).
What are the comments people say about you and being in therapy with you?
“I feel like I am in a much better place now because of our time together, and I will continue to build on what I’ve learned for years to come...”
Thank you for doing your job with compassion, understanding, and a kind heart.
Chasidy is warm and friendly, knowledgeable, encouraging, and easy to share with.
Very intuitive, a great clear communicator, and committed to doing her best.
Has great energy and does her work with confidence. She is encouraging and is professional at all times.
